Around New York, good coaches book up before each season, so ask about waiting lists and package rates rather than single lessons. Group clinics are the cheapest way for an adult beginner to get regular court time and a set of practice partners, and many programs across New York sort players by NTRP level so matches stay competitive. League sign-ups happen a few weeks before each season through a club or a local USTA captain. Camps and junior academies usually require a short evaluation first; ask about scholarship or sliding-scale spots, which many non-profit tennis associations offer.

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New York follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great coaching. You feel like you’re with an expert while also having the confidence to make mistakes and ask questions. Perfect environment for learning.

Very unprofessional. I paid in full for a class and showed up to a park for a class that never existed. Please be wary. Update: This class was bought on the official website. I tried reaching out to the organization multiple times through email, calling and text. I was never able to get in contact with anyone, only until 10 mins after the class I signed up for was suppose to start. I arrived because I paid for the class and didn't want to miss it. The link didn't specify the year, I was able to sign up and pay for a Fall Course, which shouldn't have been allowed. Conveniently, I finally got a text back when I left this review.

They are good as long as there is no rain in the forecast. It can be puzzling and tricky to schedule makeups and get a hold of them via email or phone. They don’t issue refunds, don’t have a good notification system when sessions are canceled, and don’t have back up plans for bad weather. The lessons and technique taught varies per coach and can be very different. Some of the coaches spend a good amount of time on their phones and it can be up to 15 minutes per class.

Coach totally knows his stuff. I was able to rally in 5 lessons (and I am a gangly nerd who missed the sporty gene so you could probably do better).
